Dear Mom, Thanks for keeping all the bad stuff I did from Dad.

It’s the second Sunday of May so that means Mother’s Day. Another “Hallmark holiday” but a well intentioned one.
When thinking about Mothers Day, I think of two things I’m especially thankful for. The first is being a mom to my awesome kid. When Luke was little, I used to tell him that my very favorite thing in the world was being “Luke’s mommy”. Honestly, that still goes! Although now he’d probably sigh and roll his eyes at me….but I know he secretly loves it.
The second is that I consider myself very lucky to have been raised by a kind, supportive, and loving mother — a mom who has also been an amazing grandmother to Luke. We are forever grateful to have her in our lives!
So to commemorate the day, I’ll share a couple of old but sweet photos: one of me with my mother, and one of me with Luke. I used to call Luke my “Velcro baby” because he always seemed to be stuck to me. I think I was my mom’s Velcro baby too. These two photos illustrate that pretty well.

The quickest way for a mother to get a child’s attention is to sit down and look comfortable.
