The only way out is through.
~ Robert Frost
I took this photo three years ago, early one morning on my way to work. I was sitting at a red light, watching the sunrise paint the sky a warm, glowing pink.
I happened to glance to my right and noticed that same pink reflected in a small brook beside the road.

So of course, I took a picture.
What I love most about it is the contrast.
There’s a chaotic tangle of branches and bramble in the foreground, almost restless in its movement. And right in the middle of it all is this soft, quiet reflection of the sunrise—calm, steady, and glowing.
Even the pale gray road cuts through it with a kind of quiet determination.
It makes me think of a restless mind, full of tangled thoughts and emotions, with the road of good intentions forging ahead through the middle of it all.
And somewhere within that chaos, there’s a moment of stillness—a deep breath—the soft calm that allows you to keep going.
