I began working with sourdough two years ago. I’ve always liked to cook and bake but something like sourdough offered more of a challenge – and a steep learning curve! For those who aren’t familiar, sourdough involves feeding and maintaining a little colony of wild yeast that you use to raise your dough instead of using the commercial yeast packets that you buy in the grocery store. Already having a lot of experience baking with commercial yeast, I thought sourdough would be an easy transition. It turned out to be a humbling experience! But with patience, trial and error and a bit of bakers intuition, I ended up with bakes to be proud of. This gallery is dedicated to my sourdough nerdiness.
